摘  要聽、說、讀、寫是學習英語的四種基本技能,其中,聽力是學習英語的基礎,是促進交流,獲取外界信息的重要途徑。然而,目前中學生的聽力理解仍然是英語學習中的薄弱環節。作者對淮陽某中學初二的學生進行了問卷調查,發現語言因素和非語言因素是影響中學生聽力理解的主要原因。因此,本文主要從語音、詞匯、學生自身因素、文化背景知識以及聽力材料等幾個方面進行分析,并提出提高英語聽力水平的幾點策略,以期對初中英語聽力教學有一定的啟示作用。36526

Abstract Listening, speaking, reading and writing are the four basic skills for learning English. Listening, as a basic way of learning English, is an important way to promote communication and an access to the outside information. However, the current middle school students’ English listening comprehension is still the weak link. The author has made questionnaires with the second grade students in a middle school in huaiyang county, found that both linguistic factors and non-linguistic factors are main reasons affecting students’ listening comprehension. Therefore, this paper analyzes the factors affecting middle school students’ English listening comprehension from phonetic, vocabulary, students themselves, cultural background knowledge and listening materials aspects, puts forward some strategies to improve the listening level. It will have some implications for English listening teaching.

Ⅰ. Introduction
With the globalization of the economy and social life, the importance of English is becoming more and more significant. English, as one of the most important tool of delivering information, has become the most widely used language in human life. As China is gradually internationalized, the field of English is increasingly widely, almost in every aspects of daily life. At the same time, English is a main course at the middle school. Among listening, speaking, reading and writing, the methods for studying English, listening, as one of the most important ways of learning English, is also a significant part of the cultivate of English language ability. “In all communication activities, the most important thing is to understand the words of others” (Rivers 197). As a major means of communication, listening plays a vital role in English studying. To cultivate middle school students’ English listening ability is becoming a matter of prime importance. Only to master how to listen, can they have the abilities of speaking, reading and writing.
However, due to a great deal of factors, such as vocabulary, cultural background and so on, generally, students of middle school have not get a satisfactory listening ability at the present time. In order to get more information, the author has made a questionnaire, which showed that the current middle school English teaching focuses more on written English, listening teaching and training often cannot get enough attention. Therefore, students are short of listening ability.
