摘 要近年來,農村初中生對英語的學習越來越受到關注,初中是學生學習英語的關鍵時期,培養學生掌握有效的學習策略,不僅有利于提高學習效率,而且能夠提高教育質量。本文通過定量和定性的研究方法調查了農村初中生英語學習策略的總體情況,以及不同性別和不同年級的的情況,研究發現農村初中生英語學習策略使用能力呈中等水平,女生使用情況比男生更頻繁,年級差異不明顯。筆者分析現狀產生的原因,并提出了一些解決對策。本研究旨在提高農村英語教師教學技能,并順利落實新課標的內容。34235

Abstract  In recent years, English learning in rural junior middle school has been paid more and more attention. As we all know, the junior middle school is the key period for students to learn English, and training students to master effective learning strategies is indispensable, not only to improve learning efficiency, but also to greatly improve the quality of education. The present study is conducted in combination of quantitative and qualitative research to investigate the current overall situation and the situation of different grades and different genders in the application of English learning strategies (ELSs) by junior middle school students (JMSSs) in Chinese rural settings. The finding reveals that the ability of the application of ELSs by JMSSs is at the medium level, and that the girls use ELSs more frequently than the boys, however, the difference of grade is not apparent. The author analyses its reasons and proposes some countermeasures to solve these problems. The study aims at improving teaching skills and abilities of English teachers coming from Chinese countryside and smoothly implementing The New Curriculum Standards.

I. Introduction

    With the arrival of twenty-first Century, science and technology change rapidly, and the knowledge economy reveals its crucial role for the first time. In our society, knowledge develops at a geometric rate, and students will be eliminated by the times, if they are not ability to make themselves master English learning strategies, and become autonomous learners.Therefore, teachers should not only impart knowledge and skills,but should be conductors of learning strategies students employed. There is a saying :Give a man a fish, he eats for a day; Teach him to fish, he will never go hungry. Teachers ought to transform their identities from managers, controllers to diagnosticians, trainers, coaches and coordinators.
